My Thoughts:
As an avid animal lover I have always wanted to own several different types of pets: the normal dogs and cats, but also a flying fox, a pig, a zebra, and many others including a coyote.  This book helped me realize the difficulties and dangers of owning a coyote, as well as the joys.  While reading, I felt like I was actually in the book, when Shreve (main character and author) was feeding the cows, when she was admiring the beauty of Wyoming, and when she was disciplining the ever rambunctious Charlie (the coyote).  i really liked that throughout the book there were pictures of Charlie growing through his first year of life.  I was so sad when I reached the end of the book that I kept wishing that more pages would just magically appear so I could keep going.  I will point out that the book is not just about Charlie, it's also about Shreve's relationships with others as well as herself and the idyllic lifestyle of living in Wyoming surrounded by nature.  All in all I would recommend this book to all animal lovers as well as those that are just curious about the aspects of caring for an orphaned coyote.
